Matthew Lunson is a songwriter, singer and musician and divides his time between Dublin, Ireland and Brisbane, Australia.
He has recorded and toured extensively, both as a solo artist and with Irish band One Day International and continues to be involved in various recording and live music projects including work for film and tv.
He was a member of The Cake Sale, a collective of mostly Irish musicial artists including Glen Hansard (The Swell Season), Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol), Lisa Hannigan, Damien Rice, Gemma Hayes, The Thrills, Swedish singer/songwriter Nina Persson (The Cardigans) and Australian musician Nick Seymour (Crowded House.) Lunson contributed one of the album’s highlights, the the David Bowie inspired, “Aliens” to the double-platinum Oxfam charity album of the same name. (The Cake Sale)
Aliens was sung by Neil Hannon from The Divine Comedy.
He continues to work closely with The Cake Sale’s curator and producer Brian Crosby in a songwriting/publishing relationship that stretches from Berlin and Dublin to Brisbane.
